MIM & Powder Metallurgy

A process of producing compact parts by injecting metal into a closed mold or pressure-filling a closed mold with metal oxide powder. The mold is placed into a special oven at a controlled temperature and the metal undergoes a sintering process and becomes solid. Additional pressure can be applied to the metal before the sintering, in order to improve the metal’s density, strength and other features.

This technology allows for great flexibility in production, enables geometric complexity and is suitable for medium and larger production volumes while maintaining a lower production cost than machining processing.
